Patricia Hewett considers the natural world her greatest inspiration and teacher.

Primarily a landscape painter, her travels and exploration of the world eventually lead to the realization that there was even more of the world to explore beneath the surface of the ocean. SCUBA diving opened up access to that part of this world full of otherworldly wonders. This experience has had a profound and lasting impact on her life and art.

An avid ocean advocate, she loves to explore the intertidal zone and underwater realm in order to learn more about this remarkable, ancient and mysterious part of the planet. She encourages others to join her in their own ways.

Painting with gouache and ink, her method is adapted from traditional painting, printmaking and marbling techniques.

She received a BFA in painting from the University of Kansas.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she has lived, studied and/or exhibited in Kansas, England, Texas, New York, Nebraska and California.
